The makers of 'Welcome To Karachi' starring Jackky Bhagnani, Arshad Warsi and Lauren Gottlieb, have postponed the release date of the film to avoid clash with Kangana Ranaut's 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'. The film which was to release on 21st May, will now hit the theatrical screens on 28th May instead.
Confirming this development, producer Vashu Bhagnani said, "Since the summer holidays have just begun, the distributors felt May 28 would be ideal for a solo release, and would prevent both the funny flicks from eating each other's business."
Krishika Lulla, producer of 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' agreed with this view and said, "As producers, it is important for us to understand the working of the industry, and of the box office. With such great films and so much versatility of talent, there is enough space for every film to receive the attention and focus it deserves."
Anand L Rai, director of 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' said, "It was very gracious of Vashu Bhagnani to shift the release of 'Welcome To Karachi' from May 21 to May 28 as 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' will release on May 22. It is truly wonderful to be working in an industry with like-minded people who understand the importance of every film. I wish them the best for their film; it looks great."
Directed by Ashish. R Madan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, 'Welcome To Karachi' is a laugh riot about two friends and the comedy of errors that occurs, when they end up at the wrong place at the wrong time.
