Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez’s latest release 'Roy' is off to a good start. 'Roy' has emerged as the biggest opener of 2015, what with the film collecting 10.40 crores on its opening day. Given the fact that it was not a holiday release, the collections may be termed good.
Though the film has opened to mixed reviews from both the audiences and critics, keeping in mind the buzz around the film, it is expected to perform slightly better through the weekend.
While Arjun and Jacqueline have just managed to keep the audiences interested with their chemistry, it is actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is the main highlight of the film as he is returning to the big screen after a gap of more than one year. 'Roy' which was made at a budget of 30 Crores with an additional 10 Crores for Marketing, has already sold its satellite rights at 25 Crores, overseas rights for 6 Crores and its music has also already earned another 6 Crores.
'Roy', which is a romantic thriller, is mainly aimed at a multiplex audience and so the performance in multiplexes was fairly better than single screens. The film is expected to enjoy a good Saturday too but Sunday will be a downer considering the World Cup India vs Pakistan Match.
