Jaya Bachchan calls Abhishek's 'Happy New Year' a nonsensical film

Although the recent release 'Happy New Year' has worked wonderfully at the box-office, this film has received a lot of flak from many critics. Jaya Bachchan, whose son Abhishek Bachchan features in this film, seems to have a similar opinion and so she expressed at a recent media gathering.

She goes on to say that 'Happy New Year' is the most nonsensical film in recent years and that she watched it just because Abhishek is a part of it. She goes on to defend her decision to stay away from films these days owing to the lack of art in it.

Jaya Bachchan concluded by saying that cinema these days has its focus on business more than art and feels extremely sad about it. She also complimented Abhishek and said that he is a great actor for not being afraid to act stupid in front of the camera. After having said all this, the fact remains that Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' broke records at the box-office on its very first day.
