Critic-turned-filmmaker Karan Anshuman, who had previously directed the Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat starrer ‘Bangistan’, is all set to begin with his next venture- a web series based on betting in Indian Premier League (IPL).
Titled as ‘Khel’, the web-series will focus on the drama behind the IPL matches and how it changes relations between its characters. While Vivek Oberoi would be seen playing a boy who hails from a poor family and makes it big by getting into the betting racket, Richa Chadha would be essaying the role of a sports journalist who falls in love with a cricketer.
On the other hand, Angad Bedi and Gulshan Devaiah would be seen playing cricketers with the latter’s character having shades of grey, and the former playing a character loosely based on Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Produced by Farhan Ahtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, shooting for ‘Khel’ will begin next month and will be shot in Mumbai.
