Mahira Khan was not the first choice to play SRK's wife in 'Raees', Huma Qureshi was!
Yes you read it right! While planning the film, the makers of ‘Raees’ wanted Huma Qureshi to play the part of Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, who is a crucial part of the movie’s story; and thought that she would fit the bill perfectly.

However, since the role was that of a Muslim woman and required the perfect lingo and mannerisms, it finally went to Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. Well, we are surely not complaining since be it Huma or Mahira, we would get to see SRK in a fresh pairing; and that too an unconventional one!

One also hears that the makers are soon planning to release yet another teaser of the Rahul Dholakia movie to let the audiences know a bit more about the world of Raees (played by SRK) and about the characters of Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

‘Raees’ is slated to release this Eid along with Salman Khan starrer Sultan.
