Actress Rani Mukerji has been bestowed with a National Award for her film ‘Mardaani’, which dealt with the cruel subject of child trafficking. The actress has been conferred with this prestigious honor for creating awareness with her hard-hitting film, directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
This was Rani Mukerji’s comeback film post her marriage to Yash Raj Films head honcho Aditya Chopra, where she played the character of Senior Inspector (crime branch) Shivani Shivaji Roy.
Certainly, elated by the honor, the actress said, “It’s really heartening to see that not only has the film been loved by audiences worldwide but it has transcended the realm of filmmaking and become something that inspires the people who have been tirelessly working for years for the cause of child trafficking and are the real heroes.”
Well, we too congratulate the Bengali beauty for this honour!
