The much awaited biopic 'Mary Kom' finally releases and it looks like the film has lived up to its expectations. 'Mary Kom' has been released over 3000 screens and had about 30-35% of occupancy for the morning show. This is an indication that the film has received a modest opening and is expected to pick up over the weekend.
The film is now tax free in three states of India including Maharashtra and this will definitely give a boost to its overall performance at the box-office. Priyanka's last release 'Gunday' released earlier this year and was declared as a blockbuster with box office collections of Rs.1500 million worldwide. Even though 'Mary Kom' is a little different from the commercial cinema that Bollywood is used to, the film is doing substantially well in all the circuits.
Priyanka Chopra seems very excited as she considered this to be her toughest role and said that she would cry if the audience didn't like this film. The actress was truly inspired by the story of Mary Kom and remained successful in effortlessly portraying the role of a champion boxer on-screen.
