The Priyanka Chopra starrer biopic 'Mary Kom' has lived up to its expectations and proved its worth at the box office over the first weekend at the box office. The weekend's total collections at the domestic box office amounted to Rs 27.50 Crores. This news was followed by Priyanka Chopra sharing her excitement on popular social networking site 'Twitter'. The actress tweeted, "Thank you for the incredible response to #MaryKom. I guess this film was such a heart wrenching experience that the love is just overwhelmingâ€. Priyanka Chopra's last film 'Gunday' also did well monetarily as it was declared as a blockbuster at the box office.
This film directed by Omung Kumar won the hearts of the audience as it beautifully portrayed the journey to success of 5 time world champion boxer Mary Kom. Though this film can't exactly be termed as a crowd-puller, it managed to appeal to the audience. This film also marks the entry of newcomer Darshan Kumaar in Bollywood as he managed to give a decent performance playing the role of Priyanka Chopra's on-screen husband.
It's no doubt that Priyanka was always known for her good acting skills and she has proven it yet again with her outstanding performance in 'Mary Kom'.
