Director Mohit Suri's upcoming film 'Hamari Adhuri Kahaani' is a soul-stirring romantic tale. The director is back with a bang after two back-to-back blockbusters, 'Aashiqui 2' and 'Ek Villain'.
Mohit is hailed as the master of romance in Bollywood. His films are praised not just for its content but also for its chartbuster music. His upcoming 'Hamari Adhuri Kahaani' has been penned down by Mahesh Bhatt. The film promises to be heart-wrenching tale of unrequited timeless love.
When asked about why he chose this subject Mohit swiftly replies, "After Aashiqui 2 became a success, I was given the choice of also directing Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahin by Bhatt saab. However, I chose to direct Hamari Adhuri because of the depth I felt the script has when it was narrated to me by none other than Mahesh Bhatt. The story has touched my soul and I'm hoping the audiences will also feel the same way."
He further reveals, "When Vidya saw Aashiqui, she immediately told me that she wanted to work with me. I thought she was being kind. But she also called Bhatt saab and said the same thing. Aashiqui 2 went on to do very well and one day Bhatt saab called me and asked me if he could write for me! I was speechless. Here was an iconic director asking me like a newcomer writer whether he could write for me! I immediately said yes, who in the right head space would say no ! For one year he worked on it and what shaped up moved me to tears when I read it. It's such a simple romantic story yet so complicated. So pure that it touches your soul. After hearing this story, I could not find myself doing a fluffy, journey romance. I wanted to make this meaningful, soul-stirring romance."
'Hamari Adhuri Kahaani' stars Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkumar Rao. The film is slated to hit the theatrical screens on 12th June.
