National Award winning director Neeraj Pandey is quite gung-ho about his next film, 'Baby' with Akshay Kumar. While the film has created quite a lot of buzz and curiosity in the minds of the audience, Neeraj seems to be quite calm in dealing with the post-production work and promotions of 'Baby'.
Since, this is the second time he is working with Akshay, we wonder if there is a special tuning Neeraj shares with Khiladi Kumar. Ask him about it and he quips, “No No, there is no special relation between Akshay and me. We both are professionals and you obviously enjoy working with likeminded people. If you have enjoyed working with someone, you tend to work again with them. Same is the case with Akshay and me.â€
Interestingly, 'Baby' boasts of an ensemble cast including Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Murli Sharma, Danny Denzongpa among others. Probe Pandey how difficult or easy was it to get them on board and he reveals, “It was very easy to get them all together. The script did its work. And it was a joy working with all of them. Since quite a few of them have worked with me before, the camaraderie was there.â€
Now that his repertoire boasts of some great films like 'A Wednesday' and 'Special 26', does he have the pressure to match up to people's expectations with 'Baby'?
“It is better to have people expect something out of you rather than nothing. There wasn't any pressure before and that was ok. Now there is pressure that is also ok. No qualms about it,†concludes Neeraj.
