Varun Dhawan who is riding high on success after delivering back-to-back super-hit films, seems to be in a mood to experiment with different genres. From leaving the audience in splits with his comic antics, donning the dancing shoes to being a wronged man hell-bent on seeking revenge, Varun is one of the most talented Gen-X star in Bollywood today.
And now if reports are to be believed then the young lad will be very soon seen playing a gangster for the first time on the silver screen. As per a Mumbai Mirror report, he has been approached to play Dawood Ibrahim's absconding aide Feroz Konkani, who fled from JJ Hospital after killing two policemen in 1999, and had assaulted three Rajan gang members inside Arthur Road jail before he was shifted to the Thane central jail. He later fled on a waiting motorcyle and eventually went to Dubai via Nepal.
Buzz is that Varun will sign the dotted lines post wrapping up 'Dishoom'. We even hear that the makers have roped in Irrfan Khan to play former Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria in the film.
Directed by Ashok Nanda, the film is set to roll in May 2016 and will recreate several incidents from the 90s, including the 1992 Mumbai riots and the late music baron Gulshan Kumar's murder.
