In the past Akshay Kumar has acted in Hindi remakes of many South Indian films and now the 'Khiladi' is all set to add one more name to this list.
The actor has been roped in for the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster 'Kaththi' which had superstar Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the leading roles. The film directed by A.R Murugadoss, is the story of two look-a-likes Kathiresan and Jeevanantham (both played by Vijay), focusing on the burning issues of farmers committing suicide due to corporate encroachment. Neil Nitin Mukesh played the main antagonist.
Now the Hindi remake starring Akshay Kumar will be helmed by debutant Jagan. Lyca Productions and A.R. Murugadoss will jointly produce the remake. It needs to be seen whether Neil will retain his negative avatar in this film too. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced.
The film will go on floors in April 2016.
Meanwhile Akshay will also be seen in 'Airlift', 'Housefull 3' and 'Rustom'
