Sometime back we had reported that 'Wazir' director Bejoy Nambiar will be remaking Mani Ratnam's 1988 hit Tamil film 'Agni Natchathiram' and had roped in Vicky Kaushal and 'Sanam Teri Kasam' actor Harshavardhan Rane to play the lead roles.
The original film revolved around two stepbrothers who fight over who is the legitimate heir since their father had two wives. Bejoy had even admitted about making the film and was earlier quoted saying, "Yes, it's true, I am making this movie. The script is complete and I am planning to start the project soon."
But now there seems to be a twist in the tale. If the latest reports are to be believed then Vicky Kaushal is no more a part of the film and Dhanush has stepped into his shoes.
A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source close to the development saying, "Vicky has walked out of the film citing date issues, but there were reports that it was basically because he was unhappy with the actress who they were thinking of casting opposite him. But basically it will be filmed from August to October in Mumbai as the makers want to shoot during the monsoons and Vicky has already committed his dates to another film during this period and hence had no option but to drop out of the film."
We further hear that Bejoy had made some changes in the script to make it suitable for Dhanush.
Vicky too confirmed the latest development and said, "It was genuinely because of clash of dates that I had to drop out."
