Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor were to team up for a biopic on the legendary singer Kishore Kumar. But now the tinsel town is abuzz with the news that the project has been shelved. Well it was Ranbir himself who spilled the beans! Our dream of watching the young actor play Kishore da on the big screen just got shattered.
The 'Tamasha' actor was quoted as saying to a leading daily, "That film is shelved. We wanted to make that film. It was one of the most interesting stories Dada (Basu) and I had in mind. But it didn’t work out and we aren’t making it anymore.” There was not just one, but a few major problems which led to this development." He further revealed, "Firstly, we didn’t get the cast we wanted for the film. Then there were issues with the script. Family members were not happy with the script and it was just not working out. So all these factors played spoilsport. Otherwise, it could have been a great film.”
Meanwhile the Kapoor lad is quite excited for the release of his upcoming release 'Tamasha'. Post that he has a string of films which include 'Jagga Jasoos', 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', Ayan Mukherji's superhero flick and Rajkumar Hirani's biopic on Sanjay Dutt.
