After his last successful outing 'Mary Kom', director Omung Kumar is all set for another project. He will be teaming up with Rensil D'Silva who has made films like 'Kurbaan', 'Ungli' in the past, for a thriller film.
Revealing further, Omung said, "I am making a thriller film with Rensil. It’s a completely original story. I loved the idea. Rensil is a good writer. He is still working on it. It’s too early to talk about the film."
The project will hit the shooting floors after Omung wraps his next film which is based on the life of Sarabjit Singh, the slain Indian prisoner. Omung further adds, "I will mostly start this project after Sarabjit. It is too early to say if it will happen this year or not.”
Meanwhile, his biopic on Sarabjit Singh is expected to go on-floors in October. Though the film is Sarabjit's story, it will be told through the eyes of his sister, Dalbir Kaur, who after he was convicted of terrorism and spying by the Pakistani court and sentenced to death in 1991, started a campaign for his release. Thanks to her efforts and that of the Indian government, Sarabjit's execution was indefinitely delayed. But he was attacked on April 26, 2013 in the Central Jail Lahore and on May 1, was declared brain dead.
