Sushant Singh Rajput is on a signing spree these days. The actor who has currently busy with Dinesh Vijan's 'Raabta' has been now roped in for a film where he will be seen playing an astronaut in Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan's 'Chandamama Door Ke'.
The film revolves around a team of astronauts who set out on a mission that brings the country together. The actor was quoted saying to a leading daily, "The film promises to be an epic film that has not been attempted before and I’m really excited to be a part of it.” We hear that the director has extensively researched on the subject and is excited to have Sushant on board.
He further added, "Our story isn’t based on anyone in particular but is inspired by multiple incidents that occurred in the past. It traces the journey of India’s space programme and culminates with the country’s first astronaut landing on the moon in 2017-18.”
The makers have reached out to technicians who have worked on Star Trek, Armageddon and Apollo 13 to give this first of its kind Bollywood film a realistic feel.
We must say we are quite happy with Sushant's choice of unconventional films. The young lad has a string of films coming up next- 'MS Dhoni' biopic, Homi Adajania's next co-starring Irrfan Khan and a biopic on Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar.
