After shooting some portions for Shankar's '2.0' where he plays a crazy scientist who can transform himself into a crow after an experiment, Akshay Kumar is back as a navy officer on the sets of 'Rustom'.
The 'khiladi' recently shared a new picture from the sets where he shot for a scene outside the room where the great freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak stayed as a student-
Quite a 'historical' moment for Akky, isn't it?
Buzz is that this romantic thriller is loosely inspired by 1959 Nanavati case where naval officer Kavas Maneckshaw Nanavati was tried for the murder of his wife’s lover, Prem Ahuja. Incidently Akshay too plays a Parsi character named Rustom Pawri.
In the sensational Nanavati case, the officer had fired three shots at Ahuja and then surrendered himself to police.
Helmed by débutante director Suresh Tinu Desai, 'Rustom' also stars Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta. The film is slated to release on 12th August 2016.
