Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar has failed to mint money at the box office. The big-budget film despite its stellar cast has failed to connect with the audience and continues to fare poorly.
The film which opened to mixed reviews, collected Rs 5.20 crores on Friday, Rs 5.10 crores on Saturday, Rs 5.80 crores on Sunday, Rs 2.10 crores on Monday, Rs 1.45 crores on Tuesday and Rs 1.32 crores on Wednesday. The total collection is Rs 20.97 crores.
On the other hand, Shoojit Sircar's 'Piku' which is a slice-of-life film, is performing quite well at the box office. The film received rave reviews from the critics and is minting money due to positive word-of-mouth. The star cast comprising of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan have been highly appreciated by everyone.
'Piku' collected Rs 3.10 crores on Friday, Rs 5.10 crores on Saturday, Rs 6.40 crores on Sunday Rs 2.60 crores on Monday, Rs 2.20 crores on Tuesday and Rs 2.20 crores on Wednesday. The grand total collection is Rs 63.02 crores.
