Kangana Ranaut collected her National Award for Best Actress in New Delhi. President Pranab Mukherjee presented her the award.
She looked gorgeous in a silver cut-out dress with a cape. Earlier, the actress had bagged a National Award for Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Fashion'. Kangana told the reporters, "That was supporting actress and this is Best Actress. ‘Queen’ has also got another award. So, we will have a big celebration party in Mumbai."
She further added, "I never expected ‘Queen’ to get recognition at this level (winning a National Film Award). We are very happy that the film was accepted on such a wide scale.”
Kangana's portrayal of a simple girl, Rani had received appreciation from all quarters. Actress Tripta Lakhanpal, who played her grandmother in the film, was also present to cheer for her at the award ceremony.
Produced by Phantom Films and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the film which was directed by Vikas Bahl also starred Rajkumar Rao and Lisa Haydon. Now, Kangana is quite excited about her upcoming releases, 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' and 'Katti Batti'.
