Radhika Apte who received critical acclaim and accolades for her performance in two of her releases in the first half of the year; 'Badlapur' and 'Hunterrr' will now be seen in Anurag Basu’s teleseries- Stories by Rabindranath Tagore. The actress is part of one of the stories of the series - 'Chokher Bali'. Her role, which is one of the most important characters in the story, was a very challenging one. Despite that there was absolutely no preparation involved to portray the character.
Anurag Basu wanted Radhika to be spontaneous and not come prepared. He feels that she is a powerful performer and it would be just appropriate to capture her raw. That's why the actress did not even read the entire story before the film went on floors. Anurag Basu gave her scenes on the day of the shoot and they shot it quickly.
Radhika shares, "Yes, this was one of those characters where I chose not to do much preparation. In fact I even asked Anurag if I should read the story before we shoot but he was keen that I come on set without any baggage and just take every scene as it comes. I guess it has worked brilliantly for us. I am very happy with the feedback."
