Actress Rati Agnihotri, who made her debut in the Hindi film industry with the 1981's blockbuster film 'Ek Duje Ke Liye' opposite Kamal Hassan, approached the Worli police on Saturday, to file a case of domestic violence against her husband, Anil Virwani.
She told the police in her complaint that, her husband had beaten her up on March 7 over a dispute.
The police have recorded her statement and registered a case under Sections 498 (harassment to a married woman), Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), Section 506 (criminal intimidation) and Section 350 (criminal force) of the Indian Penal Code.

Vinay Kulkarni, senior inspector of the Worli police station said, "We have filed a case and are investigating the matter. Agnihotri's statement has been recorded where she has complained about torture and assault by her husband."
The police have summoned Virwani to record his statement.
Her son Tanuj, also wrote on his Facebook page with respect to this matter.
