Revealed: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Dalbir Kaur in Omung Kumar's 'Sarabjit' biopic!

Earlier a lot of speculations were being doing rounds regarding who would play the role of Dalbir Kaur in Omung Kumar's much awaited biopic on Sarabjit Singh. The role of Dalbir Kaur was offered to Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra but now it seems that it is the 'Jazbaa' actress who has bagged it!

Though the film is Sarabjit's story, it will be told through the eyes of his sister, Dalbir Kaur, who after he was convicted of terrorism and spying by the Pakistani court and sentenced to death in 1991, started a campaign for his release. Thanks to her efforts and that of the Indian government, Sarabjit's execution was indefinitely delayed. But he was attacked on April 26, 2013 in the Central Jail Lahore and on May 1, was declared brain dead.

Sarabjit was more like a son to her and her defeat in being able to bring her brother back to India is one of the most crushing stories that will now be told on celluloid.

Now, it has been reported that Aishwarya has been her consent for this role. We just can't wait to see her in this powerful role!
