Since a long time speculations were rifle that Sriram Raghavan will be reuniting with his 'Badlapur' actor Varun Dhawan for a film. However in a twist of tale, the 'Dishoom' boy is no longer doing the film and instead 'Mirzya' actor Harshvardhan Kapoor has stepped into his shoes.
A leading daily quoted Sriram saying, "The film is in progress, but not with Varun. It is a black comedy with a thriller element to it."
As to why Varun will not be a part of the film a source informed the daily, "There’s already another film, Kaabil, about a blind man (played by Hrithik Roshan) coming before that and Varun was uncomfortable playing a blind man so soon after that."
The source further added, "Playing a blind man entails a lot of research and time and the actor wants to focus on commercial entertainers right now. There would be obvious comparisons with Hrithik. Moreover, VD wasn’t convinced about the film’s commercial viability and so, turned it down."
The movie is touted to be an edgy dark thriller about a musician who fakes being blind and also stars Tabu who was last seen in Aditya Roy Kapur- Katrina Kaif's 'Fitoor'.
Meanwhile do you guys think Varun would have been an apt choice for this role?
