Work for Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is going in full-swing. The team recently wrapped up the second schedule of the film in Rajasthan, and is now gearing up to begin with another schedule.
But don’t you wonder what this film will be based on, since the first installment of the franchise (‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’) was an ode to SRK-Kajol’s ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’? No worries, here’s a little scoop for you…
If reports are to be believed then ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, which showcases love in small towns and has Varun and Alia playing rural characters, will focus on the dowry system that is still prevalent in North India; and will have Alia essay a victim of this evil in the society!
Now that’s an interesting storyline to look forward to! In recent times, the other film that dealt with dowry system in India was the Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Daawat-E-Ishq’.
‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ will hit the big screens on 10th March, 2017.
