His latest book 'Half Girlfriend' hasn't even taken off properly yet. But the movie of his last book, 'Revolution 2020' has run into trouble.
Apparently, after the success of Kai Po Chhe (adaptation of 3 Mistakes Of My Life), and 2 States (adaptation of 2 States), UTV Motion Pictures bought the movie rights to Revolution 2020 as well. Rajkumar Gupta (director of Aamir and No One Killed Jessica) was immediately brought on board to helm this project.
Initially it was reported that Rajkummar Rao will play the lead role of Gopal in the film. However, the studio had doubts about his market viability. Hence they suggested the name of Arjun Kapoor. Rajkumar Gupta was still fine with it. But he wanted his 'Jessica', ie, Myra Karn, to play the female lead, something that the production house did not agree to.
The creative differences have escalated to such a level that Rajkumar Gupta might not helm the film. This turn of events is turning out more interesting than the book itself!
