Monday morning witnessed a sad start to the week with the news of the demise of veteran actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar. The versatile actor, 64, was suffering from a lung infection, had been admitted in a suburban hospital for the past few days. Known for his villainous and comic roles, 'Tatya' as he is fondly called by family and friends, will be sorely missed.
He was best known for his role of a eunuch in the critically acclaimed movie of the 90s, 'Sadak'. He came into prominence in the year 1983, playing the arch villain in another critical success Govind Nihalani's 'Ardh Satya'. He has featured in various supporting roles in his career and his ability to comedy was well appreciated too. The film industry took to Twitter to express their condolences with Prime Minister Narendra Modi too expressing his grief.
