Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' has been grabbing a lot of headlines for various reasons. Though the makers are yet to announce the official cast, speculations are rifle that it stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.
The film was supposed to roll its first schedule last week but it still hasn't . According to a DNA report the reason behind this is that Singh wants Shahid Kapoor's role to be billed as a guest appearance.
Obviously, SLB isn't happy with this demand and he cannot comply with it mainly for two reasons. Firstly, Shahid has been slotted an equal number of days as Ranveer and hence it is not a cameo or a guest appearance and is very much a parallel role. Secondly, the 'Rangoon' actor will opt out of the project if his role is tagged as a guest appearance as he isn't keen on playing the second fiddle to anyone at this stage of his career.
Reports even suggest that Ranveer's behaviour has irked Bhansali to such an extent that the director has told people close to him that he might never work with the actor, to whom he has given two major hits like Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
Buzz is Ranveer has put across this demand because his career graph looks good and he has accepted to play a villain only because the film is helmed by SLB and stars his love interest Deepika Padukone.
A source further revealed,"Now, Bhansali has asked Deepika to talk to Ranveer and convince him to start the film. Because the film will not move if Ranveer doesn’t come around."
Guess what will have to wait to see how things unfold from here on.
