It seems that detective stories are the current flavour of Bollywood. After Vidya Balan's Bobby Jasoos last year, we have film director Dibakar Banerjee this time, bringing the fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshy created by the famous Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay,to life.
The trailer reveals that the film is a murder mystery set in Kolkata, Bengal during the pre-independence era. It has lots of twists and turns in it and shows how Byomkesh Bakshy bagged his first detective case.
Sushant Singh Rajput who dons a Bengali avatar for the first time looks quite stylish. The supporting cast of Anand Tiwari and Meiyang Chang is promising too. The director has successfully managed to recreate the magic of that era and give an authentic look overall with a gritty background score.
Overall this new trailer deserves a clap and most importantly manages to garner enough curiosity to pull the audience towards the film.
