Sequels In His Life: Farhan Akhtar Speaks Up About 'Rock On 2', 'Don 3' and 'Dil Chahta Hai 2'
Farhan Akhtar is a man full of talents. From directing movies with ace to acting with a pro, and from penning dialogues to wooing ladies with his guitar and voice- there’s nothing that he isn’t a master at!

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor opened up about his journey so far and why he is currently focusing on acting in flick rather than directing.

However, Akhtar insists that he does take out time to be a part of different movies as a producer in an attempt to take part in scriptwriting, editing, and other behind-the-scenes activities in order to keep the director-vibes in him alive.

And when it comes to direction, there are a few question people always ask him- “What about the ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ sequel?” And here’s what he has to say about it:

“It is something that I would like to do. I actually mentioned this earlier this year too. It is too early to say if anything is happening or not, only time will tell. I have a lot on my mind about the sequel, but I don’t know what to say about when it is going to happen.”

And what about the much-awaited third installment of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Don’ franchise?

“No matter what I tweet, whether it’s a happy birthday message, condolences to someone, any information on my tour or that I am doing something new, the first comment is, “When is Don 3 coming out?” It makes no difference to people, especially a particular social media group, whether I am happy or sad, since they are only interested in Don 3. But let’s see how it goes and what happens.”

Farhan was last seen this year in Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘Wazir’ and has another movie coming up this year- the sequel to his debut flick ‘Rock On!!’

When asked about his experience on working in ‘Rock On 2’, the actor said, “It was amazing because things were familiar. It is like if you have lived in a house on rent for three years, then moved out, but if you go back to the same place after eight years, you kind of know where everything is — from the switches to the fans. So, the basic blueprint of the space that the film is set in remains the same. I was only trying to familiarize myself again with the same space, and the character, which had occupied me emotionally at one point. And it all came back quickly because Arjun, Purab, Prachi and Shahana were all there. All of us just came back, and bonded the same way we did eight years ago.”

Apart from the Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Rock On 2’, Farhan will be seen next in Nikkhil Advani’s ‘Lucknow Central’ along with Kriti Sanon.
