Sujoy Ghosh Denies Ahalya Is Adapted From A Raold Dahl Story

Sujoy Ghosh's short film ' Ahalya' has become the talk of town. The movie is inspired by a fable from Ramayana. It has been retold by Sujoy with a feminist twist. But several people were quick to draw conclusions that it could have been inspired by a Raold Dahl story as well.

However Sujoy took to his Twitter page and refuted such claims that his movie was inspired by a Raold Dahl book. An amused 'Kahaani' director, said that he was surprised how his Ramayana inspired story was being compared to works of an children's author. He added that his short story is 'adult' in nature and in no way is inspired by stories written for children.

Set in a contemporary time in Kolkata, the 14-minute long 'Ahalya' is a thriller, which is inspired by the Hindu epic Ramayana. It stars Radhika Apte, Soumitra Chatterjee and Tota Roy Chowdhury.
