Tales from the sets of Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet'

It is known fact that Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' is a large scale period film. The film is set in the 60s era, where the director has recreated the Bombay of that period in Sri Lanka.

Since it was to be shot on a big scale,as many as 600 people were required to be present throughout on the sets. Being a huge set, it was essential to have a good amount of coordination for things to remain under control.

Anurag made sure that everything is in sync with the era, from the look of the characters, to the cars and the streets.

'Bombay Velvet' is one of the most anticipated films of the year. It is a neo-noir film based on Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables'. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in leading roles. Karan Johar plays the role of the main antagonist. Directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Phantom Films and Fox Star Studios, the film is set to release on 15th May.
