The model turned actor Milind Soman is currently in news for winning the triathlon held in Zurich, Switzerland on July 19. The triathlon consisted of a 3.8-km swim, a 180.2-km cycle ride and 42.2-km run. Participants had to race through all three, in that order, without a break, completing them within 16 hours to win the title. And the one who won the title would be named ‘Iron Man’. “Everyone who completes this distance in the stipulated time is called an Ironman,” said Milind.
The 49-year-old hot model who is a four-time national swimming champion, achieved the target in a little over 15 hours, making the country proud of his commendable feat. Milind completed his swim in one hour, 18 minutes and three seconds. The cycle-race took seven hours, 45 minutes and 16 seconds, while the running took five hours, 48 minutes and 35 seconds, bringing it to a finishing time of 15 hours, 19 minutes and 29 seconds.
After winning the triathlon, which is touted to be one of the world’s toughest. He arrived home to a grand welcome. The super model was seen at the Mumbai international airport posing with the Tricolor flag, as his fans took his pictures.
Milind’s training for the triathlon involved three months of swimming, cycling and running for about 3 hours a day.
