Like most boys, Varun Dhawan too shares an easy and friendly equation with his dad film-maker David Dhawan. Recently the father-son duo did a special interview for HT on the occasion of Father's Day.
When asked about if not an actor then what would have been his career choice Varun was quoted saying, "I would have struggled. After finishing my business administration course, I had gone to look for a job in a multinational bank, but the interviewee said that I should become an actor." His father added to this, "Even as a child, he used to be lost in his own thoughts. He has never troubled us. He is focused; even I used to be like that." Varun further continued, "This is exactly what I have grown up seeing (taking work seriously). Whether you work with your family or someone from outside, you can’t take the audience for granted. This is something I’ve learnt from him."
Ask Varun whether he feels any pressure of being David Dhawan's son and he says, "Never. You can lie to everyone, but not to yourself. It’s not my fault that I was born in a fortunate family, and I didn’t have to struggle a lot to reach where I am. But my struggles are different. I’m not invincible. I am not picture-perfect. The reason I am here is not because of the money; if I get to entertain people and put a smile on their face, I feel content."
After 'Main Tera Hero' Varun is once again collaborating with his dad for 'Judwaa 2'. Expressing his excitement the actor quipped, "We are getting ready. But, even I feel it’s my first film. I am dying to start working with him."
Someone just rightly said it- 'Like father, like son'!
