Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi' has been in news for a lot of reasons. First Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were supposed to do the film but later Salman Khan was roped in. Things didn't work out with him too. Finally the director finalised Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt as the lead pair.
Adding to it, recently there were several rumours doing rounds that the film has been shelved. Now Varun has opened up about this project and this is what he was quoted by Hindustan Times in an interview as saying, "I don't know why people assume it's delayed, but I was never supposed to do 'Shuddhi' this year. Karan will decide when we start shooting for the film. I need to give one whole year to the film and it's definitely not happening in 2016."
Meanwhile the young lad has a string of films which include Rohit Shetty's multistarrer 'Dilwale' which is slated to release on 18th December. Post this he will be seen in Rohit Dhawan's 'Dishoom' co-starring John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez.
