Remo D'Souza's much awaited sequel 'ABCD 2' has already taken the box office by storm. After receiving a tremendous opening on Day 1, the film still continues its dream run at box office.
'ABCD 2' minted Rs.14.30 crores and is the highest first day opener of 2015. The dance film has beaten the year’s highest opening day record set by Akshay Kumar’s 'Gabbar is Back' which had reportedly collected Rs.13.05 crores on Day 1. It collected Rs 14.51 crores on Saturday. The total box office collection now amounts to Rs. 28.81 crores.
Despite of heavy rains, the film is receiving an excellent response at the box office. The fresh pair of Varun-Shraddha, the dance genre and the franchise in question has clicked in the favour of the film.
'ABCD 2' traces the journey of an Indian dance troupe, a motley assortment of boys and girls who come from the backstreets of a Mumbai suburb; their rise to fame, sudden downfall and then their heroic attempt to seek vindication by regaining their lost glory and pride.
Directed by Remo D'Souza and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, the film stars Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhudheva, Lauren Gottlieb, Dharmesh Yelande, Raghav Juyal and Punit Pathak.
