Recently at an exhibition dedicated to Charlie Chaplin in Mumbai, Vidya Balan had expressed a desire to play Charlie Chaplin on-screen. She had admitted that she loved Sridevi as Charlie Chaplin in 'Mr India' and would love to play the iconic character someday as she is highly inspired by him.
Now it seems that her dream is all set to come true. Buzz is that Malayalam film director R. Sarath has approached her for a Hindi film with Chaplin as the central character. The director will be coming to Mumbai next week to meet her and carry things forward.
Sarath said that he wanted to honour Charlie Chaplin as it has been 100 years since he first appeared on the big screen. He further cleared that his Hindi film with Vidya is not a biopic but a serious piece of fiction with lots of smiles and tears.
Vidya's spokesperson confirmed that she has been approached for this film and talks are on.
Wow, we just can't wait to see this new avatar of Vidya!
