Akshay Kumar started the year 2016 on a high note with 'Airlift' receiving appreciation from all corners. Now the 'khiladi' is all set to amaze you with yet another thriller story where he is essaying the role of a navy officer in Neeraj Pandey's 'Rustom'.
While the film has already been generating a lot of buzz in the tinsel town, Akky recently took to his Twitter handle to release the first poster of the film-
Buzz is that this romantic thriller is loosely inspired by 1959 Nanavati case where naval officer Kavas Maneckshaw Nanavati was tried for the murder of his wife’s lover, Prem Ahuja. Incidently Akshay too plays a Parsi character named Rustom Pawri.
The film’s poster says, “Three shots that shocked the nation.” In the sensational Nanavati case, the officer had fired three shots at Ahuja and then surrendered himself to police.
Helmed by débutante director Suresh Tinu Desai, 'Rustom' also stars Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta. The film is slated to release on 12th August 2016.
