It seems that Bollywood's young star, Ranbir Kapoor has made a new friend at work. The actor plays a street fighter in Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet'. He was training with Ashwinder Singh and instantly hit it off with him.
Ranbir had to learn different forms like Mix Martial Arts and Thai Kick Boxing to get into the skin of his character. He also had to undergo a different kind of work-out. He needed to sport a lean look rather than a beefed up physique. He trained with Ashwinder for nearly 6 months to build muscle and get the craft right. Both of them enjoyed the training sessions. They even used to hang out together after the rehearsals. The duo used to practice for a couple of hours every day in Mumbai (at the venue where the fighters of Super fight League used to practice) and then continued to keep at it throughout the shooting of the film.
Ashwinder who originally hails from Kenya, is quite knowledgeable about different fight forms. He is a master in street fighting and has been trained in Muay Thai. Ranbir used to talk to him about the correct diet and workouts.

In fact, Ashwinder is also playing a small role in the film as a Japanese street fighter. Even though the shooting is long over now, both of them are still in touch.
A spokesperson confirms the news and says, “Ashwinder and Ranbir met during preparation for the film but yet continue to be in touch. They discuss films, work, health, fitness and share a good rapport. .”
